The Homs Awqaf Directorate organized a religious gathering titled “In the Spirit of Ramadan” at Al‑Hussein bin Ali Mosque in the Al‑Bayyada neighborhood, as part of its ongoing efforts to revive the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan and strengthen religious and social values within the community.

Reinforcing the Mosque’s Role in Society

Sheikh Shadi Kanaan, Imam and preacher of Al‑Rifai Al‑Sabsabi Mosque, explained that the gathering aims to reinforce the mosque’s role in people’s lives, connecting the community to its spiritual and social functions. He emphasized that the mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center for moral guidance and spiritual refinement.

Purifying the Heart and Nurturing the Soul

Kanaan highlighted the importance of self‑discipline during Ramadan by controlling one’s hearing, sight, and speech, noting that the heart is the core of human righteousness. He stressed that purifying the heart reflects positively on individuals and society, and that the gathering seeks to raise awareness about avoiding negative influences.

Prophetic Teachings and Spiritual Atmosphere

Resident Mohammad Al‑Ahmad noted that the gathering included prophetic teachings on the virtues of fasting and reciting the Qur’an during Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of such events in strengthening religious awareness and reinforcing the values of compassion and solidarity.

The event featured:
